Introduction
The project envisions the modernization of the agricultural sector through activities such as the provision of necessary technology and production materials, mechanization of crop/commodity production, and the establishment of infrastructure for processing and marketing with a clear roadmap to increase agricultural production and productivity.
This project supports the implementation of the Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS), prepared through indigenous thought, domestic investment, and internal institutional manpower. Initiated by the Government of Nepal in F.Y. 2073/074, it is operating nationwide for 10 years through Superzones, Zones, Blocks, and Pockets for specific crops.
Objectives
To create specialized areas for Paddy, Fish, and Banana crops to meet the food requirements of other districts.
To enhance competitive capacity by making qualitative improvements in the value chains of Paddy, Fish, and Banana.
To create employment opportunities by developing paddy cultivation and related industries as respectable and profitable businesses.
To ensure effective service delivery through functional coordination among multi-stakeholder agencies.
Goal
To support the overall development of the nation by creating sustainable economic opportunities oriented toward agricultural industrialization, ensuring food and nutritional security through the integrated coordination and mobilization of components within the Paddy, Fish, and Banana-based value chains.
